PYRATEX® Ter 4 - The PYRATEX® TER 4 is a fin rib structure made from a blend of regenerative cotton and 5% elastane. Regenerative cotton represents a more holistic and ecologically focused approach to farming when compared to organic cotton. While organic cotton emphasises the elimination of synthetic pesticides, fertilisers, and harmful chemicals, regenerative cotton expands upon this foundation by focusing on restoring soil health, contributing to local biodiversity, maintaining the water cycle and integrating ecosystem services. Regnerative farming is actually an age old technique that was used by farmers in the past before the introduction of GMOs. Today you can find small local communities resorting back to these traditional practices. It often involves the implementation of farming techniques like cover crops, crop rotation and intercropping to maintain soil fertility, reduce water usage, and enhance carbon sequestration. Furthermore, through the use of these traditional farming techniques, farmers are able to maintain a steady supply of crops and by extension, income throughout the years thanks to the various yields. The regenerative cotton fiber used in this blend is certified regenagri, an international regenerative agriculture program for securing the health of the land and the welfare of those who live on it. PYRATEX® Seacell 6 - PYRATEX® seacell 6 is a lightweight and fluid jersey made with 100% seaweed-based fiber called SEACELL. It has an anti-oxidative capacity which eliminates free radicals while caring for the wearer's skin. The seaweed comes from the Northern Atlantic, holding properties certified by European laboratories. It is pure and rich in essential substances such as vitamins, trace elements, amino acids and minerals. The skin’s natural moisture level enables an active exchange of these substances, activating cell regeneration, which in turn can help relieve skin diseases, reduce inflammation and soothe itchiness. The seaweed is harvested in a gentle and selective process, which only removes the top half of the plant. This allows the seaweed to continue to regenerate. Seaweed fiber is carbon neutral, produced in a closed loop with no chemicals released as waste. The seaweed is washed, dried, carefully ground and added to wood cellulose NMMO solution, following a process similar to lyocell, resulting in a cellulose fiber enriched with seaweed, called SEACELL. This fiber is then knitted into a fabric. The positive properties of seaweed are permanently preserved within the final fiber, even after multiple washing cycles. PYRATEX® Power 3 - Bringing the power of nature to performance wear, PYRATEX® power introduces the functionality of synthetic fabrics in a wood-based renewable fiber sourced from sustainably managed forests. PYRATEX® power 3, made from a blend of microtencel and recycled elastane, is an interlock structure that embraces the body's every shape in a functional, skin-caring embrace. Its heavier, contour-fitting behavior, along with its properties, makes this refreshing fabric specifically ideal for sensitive skin and for those leading an active lifestyle. The wood-based fiber in our PYRATEX® power fabrics is OEKO-TEX® certified and originates from renowned supplier Lenzing: it is a renewable fiber, developed with various tree species, including eucalyptus, spruce, pine, birch and beech. All of the trees used to produce our fibers are grown in natural forests and responsibly managed plantations, without any chemical fertilizers or artificial irrigation. Close to 100% of the wood and pulp is FSC® certified and the water scarcity impact is 1.7 times lower than that of generic viscose fibers. PYRATEX® Power 4 - Bringing the power of nature to performance wear, PYRATEX® power introduces the functionality of synthetic fabrics in a wood-based renewable fiber sourced from sustainably managed European forests. PYRATEX® power 4, made from 100% microtencel, is a medium weight interlock structure. Thanks to the skin-caring properties of wood-based fibers, power 4 is a refreshing fabric ideal for sensitive skin and for those leading an active lifestyle. The fiber in our PYRATEX® power fabrics is OEKO-TEX® certified and they originate from Austria and Czech Republic: it is a renewable, wood-based fiber, developed with various tree species, including eucalyptus, spruce, pine, birch and beech. PYRATEX® Rewear 4 - PYRATEX® rewear 4 is a soft and supple interlock fabric made with 100% circulose fiber derived from textile waste blended with woodpulp. Less than 1% of clothing is recycled into new garments, and around 50% of textile waste is downcycled, incinerated or landfilled. Recycling textile-to-textile is challenging due to the composition and blends of the materials. However, our PYRATEX® rewear fabrics are designed to address this problem by utilising pre- and post-consumer waste as a resource and reintroducing it back into the fabric composition. Fueled by 100% renewable energy, this innovative recycling process involves converting textile waste, such as old jeans and production scraps, into a dissolving pulp from which man-made cellulosic fibers are created. The dissolving process begins by collecting textile waste from cotton-based garments due to their high cellulosic content. The collected waste then goes through a purification process where all non-cellulose components, such as plastic or polyester buttons and zippers, are removed. Only the extracted cellulose is retained. The resulting paste is then blended with virgin wood and processed, resulting in a strong 100% man-made cellulose structure similar to Viscose, called CIRCULOSE®. This circulose fiber is then spun into yarn, which is ultimately knitted in Portugal into the soft interlock structure called PYRATEX® rewear 4.
