Material Story

Whether in the vast open spaces of a museum or the intimacy of a small balcony, plants have the power to transform interiors, redefining space and creating atmospheres that bring us closer to nature in its most authentic form. Nestled among dense tree canopies, a luminous glass structure shelters lush vegetation that casts colours and geometric patterns throughout the space, recalling the hues and designs of the cotton fabrics by Liberty Fabrics. In much the same way, the ribbons created by Rifra Nastri seem to reflect the tones and textures of the entrance to Casa Milà in Barcelona, where the flowing design of the gates evokes forms shaped directly by nature. At SFER IK Museum in Mexico, organic architecture intertwines local vegetation and concrete in an immersive setting that recalls the rich materiality of the exquisite fabrics by Junior Arte Ricami by Adele Zibetti. The labels by MET Manifattura Etichette Tessute, meanwhile, are arranged like the elements of a charming urban balcony, where plants become the focal point of the décor and enliven the space with a vibrant, spontaneous palette. At the Azulik resort in Tulum, also in Mexico, greenery intertwines with concrete surfaces, illuminated by the soft glow of a wicker lamp, in a combination that echoes the decorative character of the accessories by Toschi Passamanerie. The silks and cottons by Menchi Tessuti / Pantex are enriched with deep shades of black and green, reflecting the intimate atmosphere of an outdoor lounge where vegetation covers sections of dark wooden walls. In an elegant domestic living room, a plant becomes the centrepiece of the scene, enhancing shelves and sofa alike while recalling the textures and colours created by Italpiega. The dialogue between green and peach tones found in Fashion Jersey by BM/Nesatex is mirrored in the interiors of Fabrika Tbilisi in Georgia, a former Soviet sewing factory transformed into a creative hub, where industrial geometries, wood and vegetation coexist in perfect balance. Bringing this journey to a close, the colours of the Lagomar Museum in Las Palmas, Canary Islands, seem to be absorbed by the warm woollens by Polistyle, evoking the splendid organic architecture that blends harmoniously with the volcanic rock in a continuous dialogue between design, landscape, and nature, from the inside out.
