Fragments of Egypt

Material Story

With its crystalline sea and an architectural heritage steeped in memory, Egypt reveals itself as a timeless journey, defined by intense chromatic contrasts and light that shapes every surface. Between two sand-coloured walls, a glimpse of luminous blue sea opens up: a visual dialogue reflected in the cotton and virgin wool by Ducotex, where freshness and warmth meet. The lyocell and cotton by Tessitura Carlo Bassetti absorb the same shades as the Nubian Palace, whose traditional architecture blends sinuous lines with essential geometries in harmonious balance. In the heart of the desert, the Giza Necropolis asserts its majesty: the pyramids rise against the sky, evoking the refined contrasts that animate the canvases by Jozwiak. The metallic accessories by Mengoni & Nassini – MTWH Group, meanwhile, recall the warm glow of the lanterns marking the colonnade of the al-Hakim Mosque in Cairo. In the vibrant Old Market district of Sharm el-Sheikh, the al-Sahaba Mosque dominates the wide square with its striking presence, reflecting enveloping golden tones on the fabrics by Lanificio Luigi Zanieri. Silk-blend patterns by Lanificio Fratelli Bacci are tinged with the colours of the columns of the funerary temple of Ramses III, surfaces sculpted by time on which history continues to speak. Within the vast temple complex of Karnak in Luxor, the imposing columns covered in hieroglyphics, smoothed by centuries, create a calm, almost monochromatic visual rhythm, echoed in the lightweight fabrics by Quality Textiles. Meanwhile, jacquards by Bedini F.lli are dressed in white and red, tracing elegant motifs that recall a desert oasis, where a camel rests in the shade. Finally, as the sun begins to set, the light softens and the skyline glows with the same warm hues found in Lanificio Fortex. The beige and pink by CM Tessuti meet in a delicate dialogue, painting the last sunset of an extraordinary journey: one in which, opening a window, you suddenly find yourself facing the millennia of history preserved within a vast pyramid.
