Absence

Material Story

We walk through suspended places, where everything fades and silence sparks thought. The ground, as white as the organic cotton by Borghi 1819, blends seamlessly with an equally pale sky, guiding us on an inner journey. The warm wool by Zignone, in shades of blue and green, seems to paint the road, flanked by motionless buildings and a misty haze that dissolves the horizon. There is no sound, no presence – only the echo of an endless carriageway, its asphalt mirrored in the wool by Marini Industrie. The city appears deserted, yet alive in memory, as the alley ahead lights up with an almost iridescent pattern, like that by Jackytex. Silence becomes so deep it transports us to another dimension: a boundless steppe, colouring Frizza’s cotton in delicate camouflage tones. We pause before a field, its atmosphere wrapped in the cashmere by Lanificio Breschi; we linger, absorbed, as thoughts shout within a landscape that remains still. The mind opens like a dark, calm sea, gently swaying, evoking the elegance of tweed by Joseph H Clissold & Son. Further on, an underground passage welcomes us with its mystery: E. Thomas’s twill reflects its depth, while the neon light becomes our only anchor against getting lost. Even in the most remote places, among fog-covered countryside, the path finds its rhythm: the poles lining the road stand tall, like the twill by Tessuti di Sondrio – Marzotto Group. Then, a distant sound breaks the stillness, and we look up: the geometry of Lanificio Paoletti – MTF’s Prince of Wales check traces itself across the surrounding buildings, and a bird soaring between them gently brings us back to reality.
