Loden Steiner

About us

steiner1888.com/en/
Loden is made from one hundred percent natural wool. This is processed in up to 40 elaborate steps. A yarn is spun from the wool, which is then woven into a woolen fabric. Fulling refers to the "kneading" of the wet fabric until it becomes matted. This creates properties that turn the traditional fabric into a natural functional fabric. Virgin wool has always been obtained from Austrian mountain sheep for this purpose. To enhance the quality, fine wool from other animals is also added. These include alpacas, merino sheep, angora rabbits and cashmere goats.
