There's no denying that the suit and tie is back: a classic symbol of men's dressing.
Whether it's a return to reality or a provocative statement, fashion is taking a serious turn. Breaking the chains of what defines masculinity has been a cultural quest for many years, moving men's fashion away from the narrow domain of tradition.
In times when it is rare to see a suit in the office, perhaps the suit and tie can be worn again with new freedom once old associations have been abandoned?
It's a relative formality and quieter portability. The classic pieces of men's fashion, the suit, shirt, tie and trench coat, form the starting point and subtle modifications are made.
However, we are in a time of contrasts in which the problem is climate change or the horror of new conflicts. We use fashion as a provocative commentary on what is wrong in the world and as a vehicle for change. Remaining silent in this scenario is not an option!
