Beneath our steps

Material Story

Combinations and interlocking patterns disrupt the uniformity of the ground. Designs and textures create the uniqueness of a space – an aesthetic refinement for the places we walk through every day. A personalization that, in its simplicity, offers pleasant details beneath our feet. In the park, a robotic arm plays an unusual game of basketball, while a two-tone doodle outlines the court with woven mechanisms in Quorum’s jacquard fabric. Concrete tiles shift their shape, a convincing three-dimensional illusion that moves with the eye, like a feathered pattern by Galeottipiume. A scarlet-red fabric by Quaregna - La Tela di Penelope covers the cold metal slab, leaving deep streaks on its surface. Olimpias Labels climb cubic steps, forming a walkway of carefully arranged geometries beneath our feet. Monochromatic tiles take on new significance in the floral arrangement of twisted stems and blooming flowers on a printed fabric by Texta by Fasac. Amid the grey cityscape, a whimsical path emerges – a fabric by Jules Tournier spills onto the sidewalk after a sudden escape. Unbroken stripes of a Deveaux fabric run along the streets, colouring carefree strolls. Small polygons gather in disorder, free from structure or rules, as well as diverse shapes and scattered colours feature within the threads of a Picchi fabric. Layers of paint gradually reveal themselves on steel tiles. The blurred, jagged stains of a Lisa fabric echo with every step against the rough industrial grain, while a fabric by Leathertex - Umberto Lenzi silently reflects the white light of marble in a diaphanous apartment.
