Family owned since 1939, LEMAR is a semi vertical weaving mill of a broad selection of fabrics having its offices and manufacturing operations based in Pevidém, Guimarães, the heart of the textile industry in Portugal. For over 8 decades, our company has taken pride in producing high-quality products with an exceptional service.

Through our focus on continuous innovation, we keep striving to constantly increase customer satisfaction and provide added value to customer relationships.
Today’s LEMAR operates under the direction of third and fourth generation family members.

Our core business has been the production of men swimwear fabrics.
This company has a very strong positioning and knowledge on this area and their fabrics have been chosen (and still are) by top international brands of the sector.

However, over the last years new lifestyles have radically changed the way we dress and, consequently, we have expanded the range of the end use targets which have enabled us to create many different and varied qualities of fabrics.

ROSE NEWLIFE - NEWLIFE is a High performance recycled polyester yarn, made from post-consumption plastic bottles SHELL SEAQUAL / ECOVERO - Seaqual is a high quality yarn made from marine waste recovered from the sea and post-consumer PET from land-based sources. ecovero is derived from certified renewable wood sources using an eco-responsible production process. DANUBIO SOUL ECO - soul eco is the world's first polyamide yarn with accelerated decomposition in oceans and landfils. RISCA/1808 SEAQUAL - A high quality yarn made from marine waste recovered from the sea and post-consumer PET from land-based sources. RISCA/1732 SEAQUAL / ECOVERO - seaqual is a high quality yarn made from marine waste recovered from the sea and post-consumer PET from land-based sources. ecovero is derived from certified renewable wood sources using an eco-responsible production process. Our company is carefully designing its collections with responsible sourcing and fiber choice, eco-labels, and fiber-to-fiber technologies.
These technologies have improved positively the features of the yarns selected, helping us to create fabrics with better performance from an environmental perspective.
Among our range, you will be able to find value-added Eco-fabrics woven with yarns like Seaqua, Newlife, Amni Soul Eco, Sensil Ecocare, Biocare, ByNature, EVO by Fulgar, Q-Nova.
From marine litter collected in the oceans to post-consumer PET bottles, Castor oil derived from castor plant, from organic waste or with accelerated decomposition, there are several fabric options offering advantages across all areas of sustainability.
All our eco-upcycled yarns are bought from European spinners, reducing the greenhouse gas emissions with its transport.
We believe with these steps we have a clear opportunity to act differently while creating new value for society, to prolong the lifecycle of materials, to narrow the amount of waste and to minify the harm to the environment
