Nostalgic elegance

Material Story

Decorations and patterns of a classic taste evoke the elegance of the past century – at times composed and restrained, at others surprisingly eccentric – casting a light imbued with nostalgia. An ornate fan, a head chain and precious pearl accessories transport us to the Roaring Twenties: the embroideries by Goretti – MinervaHub interpret their decorative spirit, while Arella’s prints blend into a sophisticatedly rustic aesthetic, in which an elegant dress meets the simplicity of a straw hat. A lace fan then seals a nineteenth-century allure that seems to take shape in the silks by Manfilm Heritage 1950; the trimmings by Topp Italia design the sleeves and cuffs of another contemporary dress, restoring its grace. Meanwhile, the light caresses flowers in a vase and a red-haired maiden, wrapped in a floral dress, casting reflections and hues into the embroideries by Forza Giovane Art. The jacquards by Ruffo Coli are tinged with lilac and violet, echoing the shades of a feminine dress attuned to the same tones. The shadows of iron railings trace refined patterns across the parquet floor, while a white dress glides lightly over a young figure, recalling the delicacy of Stib 19 lace. The interplay of black and white by Manifatture Italiane Scudieri – Mectex Div. conveys the purity of a dress with a square neckline and puffed sleeves; a little further on, in a hall echoing the Belle Époque, a pristine blouse stands out for its ethereal plumage, recalling the creations by Galeottipiume. Finally, the golden sequins and white flowers by Fada Tessuti arrange themselves like sparkling chandeliers, illuminating a corset and a flowing skirt, and leaving suspended in the air the melancholy of an elegance far away in time.
