The tea ceremony

Material Story

We journey to Japan for the span of a brief pause, where boiling water and unfurling leaves become gesture, anticipation, ritual: the tea ceremony. An essential room, with a distinctly Japanese design, welcomes us in its measured silence; fabrics by Flame hold that quiet, while Lartigianabottoni accessories gather like cups and teapots ready to take the stage. In one bowl, the bamboo whisk rests, and Lampa echoes its light lines and natural hues. The cotton by LA LINEA is dressed in delicate blue and enveloping brown – the same tones that inhabit the table where teacups wait discreetly. An experienced hand pours the tea slowly; the jerseys by M.I.T.I. absorb the deep black of the teapot and the calm cerulean of the walls. Gritti Group buttons are arranged with precision, evoking a tray that holds a pristine teapot and another steaming cup. A short distance away, a cup rests upon a bamboo mat adorned with the branches of a bonsai, and Manifattura di Domodossola accessories reflect its silent harmony. The soft jerseys by Generos de Punto Fabrés are tinged with beige and red, transforming into the worn wood of a small table upon which the tea awaits its moment. The flavour, intense and authentic, invites another cup; thus the leaves are poured into a vessel with brownish-violet hues, seemingly reflected in the fabrics by Tessitura Attilio Imperiali. Finally, the corduroy velvet by Pontex recalls the tones of the tea room’s rugs, enveloping those present and leaving a calm, enduring memory of a splendid, timeless ritual.
