Filtered rays

Material Story

From the sun’s rays emerges a warm, diffused glow, a suspended light that lies across surfaces like an invisible veil. The rosy transparencies of tulle and the green hues of chiffon by Jato 1991 – MinervaHub are inspired by the soft luminosity that filters through branches at dusk. The thin, delicate lines of Mokuba by Ribbon Line’s ribbons recall the reflections that intertwine with half-closed Venetian blinds, tracing paths of silent light. The soft fabrics by 3C Company evoke the homely calm that is separated from outside reflections by a protective covering. NRGY – Staff Ricami – Manifattura Carpigiana presents embroidered trimmings and a tassel which, together, evoke the shimmering sunlight filtering through a cloudy sky. The elastics by Fashion Tex echo the quiet of morning, when the sun shyly pierces through the curtains, drawing fleeting geometries on the walls. The gently gathered, sinuous waves of Topp Italia’s ribbons recall the nighttime sparkle of water, where shadow and brightness chase each other across the floor of a swimming pool. The stripes of Lanificio Luigi Zanieri’s poplins, at times close-set and at times spaced apart, seem to translate the passage of rays travelling across a white wall, reaching out towards infinity. The sparkling, midnight-blue accessories by PB Accessories resemble the bubbles that come to life underwater after a dive, suspended between light and darkness. In the jacquard and tricot fabrics by Beste, luminosity becomes earthier, recalling the first rays of dawn mingling with the warmth of leaves in an autumnal forest. Finally, the textures by Fiveol Textil interpret the meeting of shadow and brightness: the black viscose holds the light, while the white mesh fabric lets it filter through, creating a vibrant contrast.
