Fisherman

Material Story

In the suspended quiet of dawn over the sea, when the air is scented with salt and promise, small boats rest lightly on the water, awaiting their owners – the fishermen – in search of those unmistakable-tasting fish that speak of sunshine, summer, and memories shared along the shore. Two little boats drift slowly, cradled by a lake veiled in golden light: the warm, discreet reflections of morning caress them, evoking the delicate textiles by Dinamo Contemporary Fabrics. A little farther on, a boat steered by a fisherman glides across the calm waters, its intense tones seemingly reborn in the bold prints by Arella, like daring brushstrokes on a liquid canvas. Resting against the bank, a fishing rod stands out, slender and elegant, echoing the zippers lines by Lanfranchi Lampo Zippers. Nearby, the viscose and cotton by Intesa C glow with the luminous hues of a boat laden with nets and tools, ready for a new day’s work. A male figure, still silhouetted, appears to be preparing his equipment, and in the contrast between shadow and gleam the tactile warmth of the soft Sidónios Knitwear textiles takes shape. The fine stripes by Puig Ubach arrange themselves like the thoughts of an elderly fisherman wrapped in the gentle light of morning, suspended between experience and devotion. Where the rod is laid on the ground, Shindo Textile Europe ribbons seem to gather its colours and geometries, weaving together functionality and poetry. The stripes and checks by Albini 1876 dress a fisherman in a tartan shirt, standing before the flat, quiet waves of the sea; not far away, where the sun has not yet fully conquered the darkness, another man casts his net with a wide, harmonious gesture that recalls the light transparencies signed by Proposte. Finally, a brilliant pattern by Emil Jersey Fabric and Knitwear Division merges with a deep, coated blue, forming the image of a boat suspended between the sky and its reflection on the water, in a setting of silences, waits, and infinite horizons: a moment that belongs to those who live the sea every day, and who at dawn work amid light, effort, and wonder.
