Trompe-l’œil

Material Story

Art becomes a portal capable of opening dimensional gateways, as we allow ourselves to be enchanted by the playful deception of sight that defines the boundary between reality and illusion. Next to a pavement lies a forest so realistically painted that it even colours the Stephen Walters jacquard, while the ribbon by Passamaneria Frassinetti recalls the hues of freshly washed clothes hung out to dry. In a room, some trees twist across the walls, recreating the volumes by Manifattura Modenese. The grosgrain ribbons by Vostex reflect the reddish tones of a mural nestled among buildings. We are then catapulted into the past by a building with a retro look, whose shades echo the Ribbontex labels. The velvety fabric by Argomenti Tessili evokes a scene in a colourful village of houses. A hand appears to draw back a curtain on a mighty structure, offering blue and brown contrasts to the accessories by Metal P. The floral embroidery by Quake – Minervahub lends the fresco wonderful denim-like shades, while another visual trick depicts a few windows on an orange building, giving varied contrasts to Bottonificio Lenzi 1955. Finally, the fabric by Junior Arte Ricami by Adele Zibetti reflects the painting of a picturesque exotic scene with a deceptively lifelike charm.
