Driven by a fascination with its history and youthful spirit, we walk through the streets of irreverent Berlin, where vintage charm meets streetwear. A white wall covered in writing seems to tell us something about the city – something rebelliously precious, in the same colours as Prym Fashion Italia’s buttons – while LMA.pt’s eco-friendly ribbed cotton recalls the iron structure of a tunnel adorned with brightly coloured advertising signs. Next to a photo booth, a woman in a stunning mud-coloured trench coat – reminiscent of Beste’s twill – and a matching beret perfectly embodies that refined vintage aesthetic also found in Stoffall 2.0’s tartan, dyed in greys and browns like the minimalist façade of the long building lining the street. Lights shine on the metro station, with its beige tiles echoing the stretch wool by Lanificio di Tollegno. Borghi 1819’s stripes form patterns resembling the metro’s stairways, adorned with a blue and white luminous sign, while elsewhere in the city, a yellow and black train pulls up in front of a modern glass building, giving shape to the fluid yet geometric forms of Mabo’s buttons. The metallic Monteoliveto motif reflects the enchanting reddish glow of a vivid LED shop sign. Finally, the iconic graffiti of the East Side Gallery blends its colours into the seductive abstract print by Colori Moda by Tintoria Butti, drawing us deeper into the captivating and ironic history of this fascinating city.
