Inuit

Material Story

After wrapping ourselves in countless layers, we embark on a journey through magnificent polar landscapes to discover the ancient culture of the Inuit. In a small boat, we approach the frozen coastline, which tints Titanus wool with delicate bluish hues. The reverse side of the warm double-faced fabric by Tex-Luis recalls the soft fur of the Alaskan Malamutes pulling the sled that will take us to the village. Along the way, we meet some locals with their enchanting reindeer, their brown coats resembling the shearling by Tessile Fiorentina Company. The sinuous padding by Minardi Piume recreates the rounded shapes of igloos surrounded by pristine white snow. Upon arriving at the village, a small Inuit girl, bundled up in a fur coat reminiscent of white Sintopel, gazes at us with gentle eyes and adorably rosy cheeks. The cosy checked fabric by Lanificio Roma takes on the shades of a group of children playing in front of a snow-covered hut. A woman, with her sweetly wrapped-up children, welcomes us in traditional garments featuring a black-and-white motif echoed in the tweed by Lanificio Corti Marcello. The satin by Da.Ma. Seta turns turquoise, evoking the shade of the ice blocks that form the entrance wall of a snow house. Nearby, another young girl plays with a beutiful American Spitz, its black-and-white fur resembling the wool blend by Piacenza 1733 – Piacenza Group. Finally, blue merges with brown on the teddy fabric by Furpile Idea, depicting an Inuit expert in the art of fishing, ready to catch fish beneath the ice, surrounded by the stunning glow of the sunset and the spectacular, snow-blanketed wilderness.
