Greenland

Material Story

A journey into the nature and atmosphere of icy Greenland, among unique landscapes and unmistakable architecture. A red stilt house draws the eye, much like the wool and cotton jersey by Fiveol Textil, while Galeottipiume recreates the charming appearance of a goose gazing at the cold ocean. Small houses form a lively zig-zag pattern on Umberto Lenzi’s jacquard denim. The thick wool by Mehler Lodenfabrik recalls the lush green football pitch nestled between rocky hills. A field full of dandelion flowers covers the ground surrounding other homes, blending with the white seed heads to form the woven texture by Manifattura del Prato. Labels by Panama Trimmings reflect the hues of a sky-blue house with mustard outlines and white-framed windows. A boat with its sails drawn nears the coast beneath a cerulean sky, evoking the warm canvas by Vitale Barberis Canonico. The padded quilting by Piave Maitex echoes the triangular forms of a remote structure in an endless snowy expanse. A little further on, a row of brightly coloured buildings stands out like the buttons by Knopf & Knopf International, and finally, Ykk Italia zips reflect the brilliant blue and green glow of the extraordinary polar aurora – yet another wonder of this unspoilt natural land.
