Fungus

Material Story

Strolling through the peaceful silence of the forest, we enter the enchanting world of fungi, marvelling at their forms, textures, and hues that evoke the pages of a storybook. A striking specimen of Amanita muscaria, with its iconic red cap speckled with white, stands proudly on the grassy carpet, reminiscent of Valter’s accessories in the same vibrant tones. Nearby, the delicate printed viscose by Stam Art Group reflects the wavy lines of a shell-shaped mushroom. In a shadier corner, clustered mushrooms resembling honey fungi bloom with beige and orange caps, echoing the iridescent gleam of A.C.M.’s glossy buttons. The pleated fuchsia ribbon and soft pink velvet by Mokuba by Ribbon Line meet, forming two dainty pink mushrooms sprouting among dry leaves, adding a splash of colour to the forest floor. A little further on, a pale specimen reveals a stunning ribbed texture beneath its cap, mirrored in the Naia™ and viscose blend by Riopele Têxteis. The wool blend by Garage Textile brings together warm and cool tones in a vibrant bouclé that replicates the rough beauty of a white and brown cap, supported by a thick, sinuous stalk as if sculpted by time. Another Amanita muscaria catches our eye, its convex cap reminiscent of the enchanting buttons by Gritti 1924. Meanwhile, the precious knit by Géneros de Punto Fabrés lies gently, resembling tiny mushrooms with undulating tops emerging from amber soil. In contrast, taller fungi with concave orange caps have crept between the dark rocks, inspiring the dynamic wool pattern by Sintopel. Finally, a refined weave of silk and wool on the white fabric by Giannetti Piero Lanificio recalls the intriguing texture of a lone white cap – elegant and secretive – emerging among the dry leaves, like a hidden treasure guarded by the autumn forest.
