Teen spirit

Material Story

Straight from the '90s, the grunge spirit seems to have taken hold of Generation Z’s protagonists. Teenagers in faded T-shirts, dark denim, and tartan shirts interpret its vaguely melancholic and introspective mood. A girl walks through the twilight of a metropolis that looks like Seattle, with purple hues reminiscent of an AGM fabric. A young man leans against the railing of a red-brick building with a London vibe, like the Fox Brothers' tartan. The grey T-shirt worn by a blonde girl who plays with her hair in boredom is soft, like the Mida 1975 - Fashion Jersey by BM sweatshirt. Meanwhile, the all-black fabric by Dinamo Contemporary Fabrics recalls oversized coats worn on autumn walks, blonde hair blowing in the wind à la Kurt Cobain. Black and white alternate in the hooded sweatshirt of a young smoker and the striped fabric by Stampatextyl. Black is a major player in the looks of today’s kids, who travel in homogeneous groups, wearing carefree outfits like the patchwork fabric by Quake - Minervahub. But there are also those who prefer to move alone, perhaps on a skateboard, dressed in plaid shirts reminiscent of Pearl Jam, like Free Time’s fabric. The fabric by Gruppo Sir and the wide sweatshirt worn by a teenager with a penetrating gaze have teal hues, while the frayed khaki fabric by Pratofabrics by Pratofinish evokes the off-road vehicle whose mirror holds a forgotten denim jacket. There's more tartan in the green-toned shirt, like the fabric by Tessilbiella, worn while breathing in the scent of a melancholy sunset. It doesn't get more grunge than this.
