Japandi

Material Story

Essential lines, neutral tones and welcoming textures shape the Japandi style, a balance of minimalism and zen elegance. In a sober room furnished only with a small table surrounded by four seats, the wooden wall and the textured floor are reflected across the refined canvases by Ermenegildo Zegna, while the Metalbottoni accessories arrange themselves like a tidy shelf decorated with books and small vases. A trio of tea cups, together with the teapot and a wicker tray, cast their shades upon the lustre of the buttons by Bottonificio Lenzi 1955. Further on, the delicate stripes by Puig Ubach echo the elegance of white stairs with wooden inserts. A transparent curtain wraps around a wooden pouffe with a few cushions resting on it, evoking the lightness of the textures and nuances by Chargeurs PCC; and the cotton patterns by Tessitura Carlo Bassetti take on the same tones as the wooden door that reveals a bright window overlooking a lush, verdant garden. In the quiet of a secluded corner, a beige vase fills with pink flowers, recalling the delicacy of the fringes and Prince of Wales patterns by Brecotessile. In a living room, the white and brown of Emil Jersey Fabric and Knitwear Division intertwine, recreating the contrast between furniture, flooring and curtains, while, where the blue of the walls and sofa meets the warmth of the wood, the natural fibres by Mapel / Stelloni capture its elegance. Finally, the linen and cotton by Lanificio Caverni are tinted with the soft tones of two sinuous armchairs placed before a small table on which a bonsai stands: a tiny green heart that gathers and reflects the entire zen atmosphere of this elegant retreat.
