Upside-down

Material Story

Let us adopt a different, slightly unusual perspective and gaze into the delirious yet captivating parallel world of upside-down objects. The Australian House Down Under cottage dyes the Riopele Têxteis lyocell in a delightful shade of green, while the vivid red of Inter Jersey Milano recalls the lively character of a quirky umbrella floating above the sea. A rollercoaster rises into the sky, its red and white hues reflected on the canvas by Spence Bryson Linens. The patch by Ricamificio Aschei recreates the vivid contrasts of a tiny car hanging from a rooftop. A charming flamingo seems to mirror itself in a lake with waters as clear as the delicate silk by Manifattura Pezzetti. Mila Fibres’ organic cotton is adorned with a floral pattern as delicate as a mid-air bouquet. Another sky, as brilliant as the Ittai – Minervahub fabric, lightens with the passage of an acrobatic plane’s trail. The black and gold verticality by Fabric Lab Italy is reflected in a shop window, through which an upside-down chair can be glimpsed, while the graceful curve of a glass orb reflects the image of an inverted street, like the majestic J-Val button. Finally, the cotton blend by Tessitura Carlo Bassetti takes on a sky-blue hue, resembling a spectacular upside-down skyline reflected across New York’s ocean horizon.
