Botanical fluids

Material Story

From the incision in the trunk flows a potent botanical mixture, able to shield the plant from external elements. An intriguing natural texture with reddish-purple hues inspires the velvety satin by Fasac. Quorum’s jacquard recreates the raised patterns of resin droplets, while other amber-coloured spots on the bark reflect the brilliance of Goretti – Minervahub’s rhinestones. The wavy motif by Dutel Création evokes the many cracks in the grey trunk, which oozes yellowish resin dripping down in beads, forming the splendid metallic chiaroscuro by Airily. Meanwhile, on Orsini's embroidered fabric, golden blotches settle like resin tears dripping from above. Another bark reveals a cut from which a thick orange substance emerges in irregular shapes, resembling the sequined camouflage by Fada Tessuti. The three-dimensional stripes by Pongees Specialisti in Seta recall the sticky essence sprouting from a fungus with a white surface. More resin droplets trickle from needle-like leaves, evoking the texture of Fabritex – Outside’s fabric, while Cavalleri & C.’s cloquet mimics the grain of a tree stump releasing the botanical compound that will preserve its wood.
