Wall Street

Material Story

Wall Street is not just a street; it is a status symbol. A hectic, hard-working imagery of jackets, ties and briefcases. Pedestrian crossings over wide, grey streets resemble a pinstripe by Guabello Div. of BMT / Marzotto Wool Man. A man crosses these wide streets lined with 20th-century brick architecture, with a vintage feel reproduced on a fabric by F.lli Tallia di Delfino Div. of BMT / Marzotto Wool Man.. Retro and contemporary come together in the ‘80s-influenced interiors, a nostalgic aesthetic shared by the dappled beige print by Besani. Older buildings are reflected in the windowpanes of the newer skyscrapers, as slender and light as a cotton fabric by Canclini1925. The slub grey by Marlane Div. of BMT / Marzotto Wool Man. is clear to see in the formal suits worn by the men striding down Wall Street’s sidewalks. A seemingly uniform colour actually contains multiple fine stripes in the poplin by Alumo, reproposing the optical effect of the businessman’s daily newspaper. If you wanted to stand out among the crowd, a warm-coloured jacket in Manifattura Del Prato’s fabric would be a good choice. A signature across a sheet of paper recalls the fine virgin wool fabric by Angelico. After a long day watching statistics and figures in charts and graphs, like so many coloured threads on a black background by Lane Bottoli, it is time to close your briefcase in a dark shade resembling Marton Mills‘s cheviot.
