Roofs

Material Story

The whole neighbourhood is visible from the roof terrace. A rooftop view is the simplest but also one of the most desired views of all. The adrenaline rush from being so high up and seeing so much adds shape to the setting of this timeless, romantic selection of fabrics. In the early morning light, the brick stands out against the blue of the water, inspiring a Luxury Jersey fabric, but focusing your gaze you spot timeworn rooftiles whose ancient layout is reproduced on a fabric by Brunello Linings / Brunello Fabrics. Ezio Ghiringhelli’s houndstooth resembles an old photo of an uphill village whose roofs create a mantle. The steep roof of a small town workshop recalls the stripes by Tessitura Grandi & Rubinelli - Hausammann+Moos 1811. The hot sun at five in the afternoon creates a fiery red like Borgini Jersey’s fabric, but it is short-lived because the sun sets and the colours turn to greys and blacks like the knitwear by Maglificio Maggia. Magma Têxtil’s velvet has the purplish-blue colour of the sea at night. The next morning, the camouflage pattern by Casa da Malha has taken on the warm grey of the buildings in an old town, while Tessitura Carlo Bassetti is at home on the hill. A Dragoni Prince of Wales captures the look of the rooftops in the English countryside.
