Post-modern design

Material Story

Essential lines and solid geometries are the cornerstones of a design characterized by complex simplicity. Seemingly discreet furnishings manage to define a space with their presence. Metal is one of the principal materials, and Manifatture Italiane Scudieri - Mectex div. blends seamlessly with it for the futuristic and technological look of a Cassina table. Lines of light dangle on thin metal ribbons like they were Nastritessuti ribbons. A shiny black fabric by Fantasie Tricot covers Willy Rizzo's creation. A functional piece of furniture like the essentiality of a metal chair by EMU or hangers by P.M.P.. The scratched gleam of a designer lamp inspires a MET Manifattura Etichette Tessute label, while soft, welcoming armchairs inspire a plush fabric by Opera Piemontese - Marzotto Group. Postmodernism is also about saturated colour, so the seat of a stool becomes a bright red label by Cadicagroup. Marble and glass, cut into pure perimeters, inspire the buttons by Gafforelli and join with steel. Indefinite reflections and right angles link the design to the fabric by Brunello Linings / Brunello Fabrics, where cold materials and rigid shapes meet colour and playfulness. In full postmodern style, a self-ironic table lamp leads to the creation of Lartigianabottoni accessories, where squares, rectangles, and circles gradually fade as if struck by a light bulb. A design that has allowed for much experimentation, marking decades of history.
