Precious exchanges took place toward the East: from the Mediterranean through ancient Persia to China and beyond, the Silk Road crossed lands, rivers, and deserts, a long journey through ever-changing landscapes. Travelling through the heart of the Road (today's Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Iran), one can imagine the past scenery behind the modernity. Stage after stage, one passes through cities protected by sand towers and walls, like a vast fabric by Da Giulio Group. Beyond those walls, the desert is shaped by the wind, altering its curves, covered in velvety veins by Italian Converter, until the next city. Passing through an alley of the market, with an industrial style but a historical allure, the brick stands out in the shadows like a pied-de-poule impression by Piacenza 1733. Now, the low sun over the dunes reveals a stretch of granular pink like a fabric by Estethia G.B. Conte - Marzotto Group / Harris Tweed Hebrides, but continuing the journey into Persian nature, a river is glimpsed, slipping between the rocks, undisturbed and smooth like a Sitip fabric. In observing these places, one admires the ancient craftsmanship, appreciating its mastery in making iron light as lace, like Ebtex Bertini lace. A few steps ahead, a sphere of dark glass rises into the sky, shiny like a fine jacquard by Tessitura Marco Pastorelli. Metallic attractions and glass buildings create light plays along the streets like an embroidery by HOH Hoferhecht Stickereien. On the way back, after deserts and hot cities, it is time for the snowy peaks of Big Almaty Peak, covered in a fabric by Infinity - Codice - JJ Moon. In the winter mist, a cold wind twists around a knitted fabric by Maglificio Maggia on the desolate road.
