Indian walls

Material Story

Indian architecture completely covered in opulent yet refined decoration, sinuous despite the geometry, in pure, intense colours. The boldest green and the darkest blue meet bright yellows and reds that warm up even the coolest tones. On visiting Jaipur, it is the colours more than the shapes that strike us, imprinting an image resembling a fabric by Taiana in the mind. The dusty turmeric yellow and paprika of the ornamental vaults are encapsulated in Fimma’s buttons, while Davaris Textiles dyes a fabric turquoise and copper like the precious mosaic on a temple’s facade. The fine purple decoration on a pale gold wall resembles Solstiss lace on a light background. The city never ceases to amaze with its ochre niches and floral mosaics, inspiring Airily’s print. In a more ancient setting, paint peels off the walls revealing a raw ecru tint similar to the denim by Textil Santanderina. The brass on the enormous door sets off the emerald green veining surrounding it. Nuances also chosen by Airontex for its herringbone. Indoors, light reflects off floor-to-ceiling glass pieces, resembling gems or buttons by Viola - V.A.M.P., while little sand- and charcoal-coloured bas-relief squares inspire Seterie Argenti. At the exit, the door is surrounded by blue and orange flowers arranged in curves, whose different-sized petals recall an embroidery by Goretti - Minervahub.
