The formidable 1970s

Material Story

Enthusiasm and optimism fuelled a decade that was innovative and vibrant. Creativity exploded, infecting every aspect of daily life. In homes, diverse patterns coexisted within the same spaces; on imaginative wallpapers and carpets, geometric motifs and warm colours played out like a fabric by E.Miroglio EAD - Brand SEM. Meanwhile, furniture, which had become more minimalistic, was adorned with a lamp from Artemide, offering one of the first hints of renewal. Sovratex transformed it into an all-over pattern, creating a print in the full style of the 1970s. Géneros de Punto Fabrés' corduroy was ready to replicate hits from The Rolling Stones and the Bee Gees, soundtracks of blooming days and van travels. Aspesi Federico's fabric was influenced, with coloured threads painting bright flowers. These were the years of youthful adventures and road trips exploring the world, their stops visible on windows saturated with pure tones, much like a label from Formeidee. Shirts sported the most disparate yet joyful and impactful prints, such as City by Liberty Fabrics. Oversized accessories covered the eyes; sunglasses with square and round lenses, in typical marbled brown like Valter's products. They were also the years of bell-bottom pants and jeans, often grounds for stylistic experiments and personalization to achieve a unique effect, akin to Dutel Création's denim. Technology advanced; in parks, boomboxes blasted music at full volume, their black speakers and metal bodies inspiring Sandra B's accessories, while large chewing gum bubbles inflated with a breath. A fun and flavourful spirit contaminated Fenili's buttons.
