An open space of virtual universes, rounds and games over, the arcade is a place of timeless challenges with a vintage flavour. On the flat roof of a colourful building outside the city centre, a nostalgic sign resembling a Vostex ribbon catches the eye. Board games and slot machines alternate in the soft light. Fec*Serilabel di Facchinetti plays Tetris with its colourful labels, while Tesj accumulates points and bright green tickets to spend on new games. Under the screens, shiny buttons and knobs invite Maglificio Ripa - Iluna Group to an electrifying action game. A rainbow monitor displays the scoreboard and YKK Italia marks the scores of excited players. The metalized and opaquely reflective appearance of Hillary Fashion Textile calls to mind the misty reflection of cool neon lights over the glassy surface of a table hockey game. Time passes and games moves on but nothing can replace that Arcade veteran, the classic pinball machine. Sounds, lights and designs merge into the background and Dipama takes part with bold, contrasting colours. Les Tissages Perrin’s purplish fabric brings back the excitement of playing a still-functioning game boy with its graphically archaic pixellated screen. Run for your life in the geometric, two-dimensional labyrinths. Connected points and blocked passageways are embroidered by Junior Arte Ricami by Adele Zibetti like a top-level Pac-Man game. The displays produce ‘80s electronic sounds while designs emulate a vintage futurism embodied in the printed fabric by Limonta 1893.
