Ducotex is a family reality which invests in research of avant-guard fabrics without forgetting the ancient dictates of Biella’s textile culture, famous all over the world for its tradition, technology and innovation.
In 1986 Umberto Durando began the business as importer of alpaca fabrics from Peru, founding the Durando Compagnie Tessili.
About two years later, he decided to abandon imports and started his own production of woolen fabrics in Biella. He gradually enriched the collection with many articles by taking care of the selection of raw materials and of the processes.
Today Umberto Durando is supported by her daughters Elena and Caterina in the management of the company.
The attention for details put in every phase of the production and in the end products are the basis of the company culture. The accurate selection of the high quality raw materials from Australia, New Zealand and Mongolia, and the effort of the qualified design office, consent to offer fabrics with an optimal composition and quality, to the demanding customers who love Made in Italy products.

A look into the collection

The Ducotex collection aims to offer its customers fashionable Made in Italy fabrics for men's and women's clothing. The 40 continuous qualities of plain worsted wool are the strong point of the collection available in different weights, weaves and in 100 colors from Super 100'S to Super 150'S.
Each season, according to new trends, a wide choice of articles is offered in many styles and textures.
Many other articles, plain and fancy, such as cottons, linens, velvets, silks, jacquards and an assortment for civil, military and clerical suits and uniforms complete the collection.
Also, our design office is always active in the search for new designs and is available to study 'ad hoc' articles for customisation and exclusivity.
